Hope & Health
2025-2026 Winter Shelter & Healing Initiative
In winter 2024-2025, Dignity in Motion teamed up with KTV to shelter people with our HEADS IN BEDS hotel projects. In the coldest winter weather, we provided safe sleeps for over 350 individuals.
This year, we will team up again with our HOPE & HEALTH hotel project for medically fragile unhoused individuals. Please stay tuned for more information.

October Fix a Success
What a beautiful day in the park!

On Wednesday, October 1st, we held our free Bike Fix-a-Palooza for the Unhoused at Bronson Park — and it couldn’t have been a better afternoon to get people rolling.

These events are made possible through our strong partnership with Open Roads Bike Program, whose talented mechanics handle all the repairs on-site.

Every single bike that gets repaired is then outfitted by Dignity in Motion volunteers with free bike locks and a set of free rechargeable bike lights that we provide. Our volunteers make sure every bike leaves ready to ride safely, day and night.

We also work closely with KALAMAZOO TOGETHER FOR THE UNHOUSED , whose volunteers bring a light meal, share encouragement, and help create a warm and welcoming space for everyone who stops by. Their teamwork and partnership mean the world to us.

Many of the incredible volunteers who make these events possible are people who are currently unhoused or who have experienced homelessness within the past year. Their strength, compassion, and commitment are the heartbeat of Dignity in Motion — and we are deeply grateful for each and every one of them.
We were also able to give away four bicycles, each complete with free locks and rechargeable lights.

At Dignity in Motion, we do our darndest to keep people rolling — because mobility means freedom, opportunity, and hope.

Endless thanks to our volunteers, our partners, and everyone who supports this work. Together, we’re keeping Kalamazoo moving with dignity, one bike at a time.
